Green-billed Malkoha/ বন কোকিল

Postby birder shanji » 30 Aug 2013, 06:37

The Green-billed Malkoha is a green bird with a very long tail (38cm). It looks greyish-geen from above and buffish-grey from below. The male and the female look alike. It forages by walking along leafy branches of trees and bushes. It feeds on caterpillars and grasshoppers, crickets, lizards and eggs of small birds. It moves slowly through the foliage and remains invisible except on short flights between trees. Its occasional call is a repetition of a loud note: kee-kee-kee-kee. It occurs in all the forests of Chittagong, Dhaka, Khulna & Sylhet divisions.
